Itinerary

Welcome to the heart of Europe! Once you arrive in Zurich, check into your hotel for an overnight stay. The remainder of the day is yours to see the sights at your leisure. Spend time strolling through Zurich's Altstadt or Old Town. The district is framed by alpine mountains and stretches along both banks of the Limmat River. You'll find cobblestone-paved streets lined with Renaissance-era architecture, charming cafes, world-class restaurants and entertainment, as well as boutique shops to buy authentic Swiss crafts from. (Overnight in Zurich) B

The day is free to enjoy at your leisure. Travel to Interlaken via Bern when you please. Departures are very regular and the trip takes about two hours total. Situated between two lakes, Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, Interlaken is a charming village in the Alps. When you arrive, check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring Hoheweg, the main street of Interlaken. (Overnight in Interlaken) B

Today, spend your time using your included Swiss Pass and take advantage of all the gorgeous sights and experiences surrounding Interlaken. More than simply a thrill seekers paradise, this town offers a variety of options for relaxation and sightseeing. Go for a cruise on either Lake Thun or Lake Brienz, two of the finest lakes in Switzerland, or embark on a day trip to Meringen. If you're interested in enjoying some unforgettable views, take the funicular line to the top of Harder Kulm or cross the impressive Panoramabrucke Sigriswil, a suspension footbridge. (Overnight Interlaken) B

After breakfast this morning, you will climb to Europe's highest altitude railway station on Jungfrau Mountain. The journey takes you to Kleine Scheidegg, before reaching the station at Eigergletscher, which is well known for its mountain restaurant and huskies. At Jungfraujoch, take in the breath-taking views of the Black Forest in Germany and the Vosges Mountains in France. Also enjoy the fascinating glacier and ice gallery at the top. After a spectacular day sightseeing, return to town and spend the evening at your leisure. (Overnight in Interlaken) B

Take the iconic Golden Pass Line from Interlaken to lakeside Lausanne. Along the way, immerse yourself in the picturesque views of the Alps and picture-perfect landscapes of the Romandie region. When you arrive in Lausanne, check into your hotel and start getting to know this vibrant and lively city. Visit Riponne place, Palais de Rumine, Gothic Old Town, and the streets of la Cite. (Overnight in Lausanne) B

Use your Swiss Pass and enjoy a cruise over Lake Geneva to Evian, famous for its healing waters and spa resorts. A cruise is the best way to combine the city, lake and mountains. In Lausanne, take some time to explore the city's most popular attractions, including Palud Place, pedestrian-friendly Bourg Street, and the stunning Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame. And what would a visit to Lausanne be without enjoying Swiss flavors like a local? Cheese fondue, Cordon Bleu, smoked fera (fish caught in Lake Geneva), or dried meats and gherkins. (Overnight in Lausanne) B

Take a scenic train ride to Zermatt today via Visp and check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. Spend the rest of the day exploring this pedestrianized village famed for being nestled in a deep valley shadowed by the Matterhorn. If you're the adventurous type, you could hike to the top of the Breithorn mountain, otherwise known as the 'Little Matterhorn.' In the evening, enjoy the hours as you wish. (Overnight in Zermatt). B

Today, use your Swiss Pass to take a ride on a marvel of 19th century engineering - the Gornergrat Cog Railway - which climbs from 5,262 feet above sea level. From the top, you get to take in one of the most spectacular panoramas in all of Switzerland, encompassing the iconic outline of the Matterhorn as well as the surrounding peaks and glaciers. You might be lucky enough to spot a Chamois or Marmot whilst you visit here, and you have the opportunity to enjoy a stroll through the nature reserve and maybe even sample a fondue. Take the same route back down to Zermatt where you can enjoy the numerous small bars and restaurants on the car free roads of this beautiful village. (Overnight Zermatt) B

Take the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz , located on the southern side of the Alps. Along the way, enjoy the full-length of this famed rail journey. Spectacular views of the alps, breathtaking valleys, dense forests, and mountain streams make for not only treasured memories but a luxurious experience. (Overnight in St. Moritz ) B (**Between mid Oct and early Dec the Glacier Express train does not run, so the journey will be made on local trains, ask your Travel Consultant for more details)

Beyond the slopes, St. Moritz offers visitors plenty of attractions. With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, it is a fabulous destination for cultural tourism and sightseeing regardless of the season. Take a scenic day trip in the Graubenden region using your Swiss Pass or ride the local funicular to Piz Nair, which is not included with your Swiss Pass. (Overnight in St. Moritz ) B

If there's one thing you'll discover while in Lugano, it's that this southern Switzerland town is one of country's most charming. Board the Bernina Express for an exciting train ride through the gorgeous mountain scenery of Switzerland. Onboard you'll pass glaciers, the Bernina Pass, and travel along Lago Bianco down toward Poschiavo. In Tirano, Italy, you'll board the Bernina Express Bus and traverse through Valtellina to Lugano. When you arrive, check into your hotel and start exploring this sunny destination. (Overnight in Lugano) B

Today, take advantage of your Swiss Pass and enjoy a cruise on gorgeous Lake Lugano (also called Lake Ceresio) in the afternoon sunshine. During the cruise, you'll get to see quaint towns that sit along the bank and take in the serene views. The rest of the day and evening free to do as you wish. Try an authentic, local dish at one of the many grotto lakeside restaurants, do some shopping in a posh boutique, or stroll along the flower-lined promenade. (Overnight Lugano) B

Experience a wonderful, scenic train ride on the historic Gotthard Panorama Express to Fluelen and then a historic paddle steamer cruise to Lucerne all in first class. You'll enjoy unparalleled views of central Switzerland, mountain peaks, and world-class railway construction. In Lucerne, spend time experiencing all of Lucerne's best attractions. Art lovers should stop by the Rosengart Collection, which is home to many classic works by Picasso. The Glacier Garden, which exhibits glacier potholes from the last Ice Age, is also a must-see site within the city. In the evening, dine lakeside, with incredible mountain views all around you. (Overnight in Lucerne) B

Visit one of the most legendary places in central Switzerland, and one of the most breathtaking: Mount Pilatus. Ascend the mountain by cog railway and once at the top, take in the panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. On a clear day, you can see 73 alpine peaks and stunning blue lakes! Go for a short hike to the summit, relax on the terrace, or enjoy world-class cuisine at one of the restaurants. On your way back down, take an air gondola or cable car. (Overnight in Lucerne) B

Take a direct train to the airport in Zurich, or anywhere else in Switzerland covered by your included Swiss Pass, and continue with your onward travels. B
